TOPIC 3 MIND for Seminars and Residential

1 CONCENTRATION AND MEDITATION 1/2 TO 1 HR

a  Practicing techniques from many traditions. Varied, for most levels.

b  Controlling the thought waves of the mind. Progressively switching the mind into different

modes, based on the classic texts. All levels.

c  The Upanishads and Development of the senses.

Short talk, readings and meditation on the senses, to develop sense awareness of the internal

world. For most levels.

e  Patanjali, a practical guide to meditation practice

Many practices to develop sense awareness of the external world. Intermediate on. 1 - 2 HRS

2 RELAXATION 1/2 TO 1 HR

a  Yoga Nidra. Satyananda style.

b  Biofeedback, self monitoring. Use of monitoring aids, including bio-dots.

c  Autogenic Relaxation. Training practice in self-suggestion.

d  Relaxation, Pam Style.

3 CHAKRAS

A full day/weekend. Using asana, sound, breath, colour, breathing, senses. Learning to move

awareness and ground experience. Total involvement, using yoga practices in a progressive way

throughout the session. Suitable for a yoga day, no theory needed. The level can be adjusted to the

group.

4 TRATAKAM 45 MINS.

Towards concentration and meditation, protracted practice, outdoors.
